Time with Great Grandmama

Here are pictures of the cuties last weekend helping their great grandmama decorate her Christmas tree; I'm glad I was able to catch these special moments.

After the decorating, my two little hams, a.k.a. Braden and Brooke, did quite a bit of posing for the camera.

Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Here are some pictures of the cuties putting up our Christmas tree last Friday; after a day of Black Friday shopping. Yes, for the very first time I had the full Black Friday experience; as I was driving through my neighborhood at a little before 5 in the morning, I couldn't help but think how insane I was. I met Sophia at Wal-mart, where the shopping and the chaos began. We went to Wal-mart, Target, Big Lots, and A.C. Moore. I went home happy; I got a Leapster for $30, games for only $15 a piece, a robe and pj set for each of the kids at only $10 a set, an $8 adorable pink winter jacket for Emma, and a few other items I can not mention, due to the fact that they are presents for some of my dear blog readers.

Well, after my Black Friday experience, which actually began before Friday, when I got a sweet deal online on a GPS for my studly husband; we call it his new boy toy. As I was saying, after experienceing the whole Black Friday experience, I went home, took a nap, and then we headed to the Hasletts' house for a little post Thanksgiving feast with a few other families. After stuffing our faces a little more, we headed home to put up the Christmas tree.

Thanksgiving 2008

Well, this year for Thanksgiving, we stayed at home. Initially, we were going to go to my sister's house, but things didn't quite work out as planned. It was a nice simple Thanksgiving; we had a deep fried turkey (courtesy of Kroger grocery store), homemade rolls, sweet potato souffle, creamy potatoes, green peas, a pecan pie, and an apple pie. After talking about what we were thankful for and stuffing our faces, we went on a family wagon ride around the neighborhood, which can wear a very pregnant woman out. At one point during the walk, Rich kicked the kids out of the wagon (except Emma), so I could get in for a short break. Brooke immediately got a concerned look on her face, and asked, "Daddy, what if Mommy breaks the wagon?" Gotta love a child's honesty?!??? After our walk, and Brooke's oh so encouraging words, we went back to the house for an evening of family togetherness.

Totally too tired to blog

Okay, I am exhausted; I guess a week of cuties all by yourself will do that to you. Luckily Rich is coming home tomorrow, and then I will post all the pics from this weekend; for now I am going to be lazy and simply post the results from a color quiz I took.

The Gingerbread House that Wasn't

Well, Rich is out of town for a few days, so that left the cuties and I to fend for ourselves tonight in regards to Family Home Evening. Routine and consistency are so important though, so we trudged on with FHE, even if the man of the house was absent. We sang a Christmas song, prayed, talked about why we celebrate Christmas, and watched a church DVD about Jesus and his birth; we then attempted to decorate a Gingerbread House, notice I said attempted. The icing was just a tad too thick to really create with (my fault), so I let the kids just spread some icing on the roof, add some candy, and then devour it; I guess we will always refer to it as

'The Gingerbread House that Wasn't.'
Oh well, we tried; we may not have created a masterpiece, but we did create some great memories!
